We are located in Cartersville, Ga. in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, approximately 40 miles north of Atlanta.
Sue Hopkins, E-RYT 500 has been teaching yoga in Cartersville and the surrounding communities since January 1999. In May 2002 Etowah Valley Yoga opened offering residents of Cartersville and north Georgia a “yoga only” center. The well-equipped center offers a quiet calm studio for classes and workshops.

After a decade of personal practice and seeing the benefits of yoga first hand Sue attended a teacher training program at Lighten Up! Yoga in Asheville, N.C. and in 2001 registered with the Yoga Alliance. Because learning is never finished Sue continued training over the years and in May 2005 was able to register at the 500 hr level. After teaching a number of years and a specific number of hours the “E” (experienced) designation was added. As an E-RYT 500 Sue is able to train others to teach yoga.
Because of special interest in the therapeutic application of yoga Sue has continued her education and In August 2007 completed a 1,000 hr training becoming a Professional Yoga Therapist.
With her years of personal practice, the level of training and teaching experience Sue is able to offer classes that are safe, challenging and enjoyable for any level student.
Sue has been Registered with the Yoga Alliance since 2001.
Member International Association of Yoga Therapists since 2004.
Etowah Valley Yoga is about wellness! Unlike being focused on fitness, we are health oriented. Our mission is to empower the students to create wellness and healing in their own life.
We address all stages of life through yoga, Qi Gong and Tai Chi. As long as you can breath we have a program for you! Self care is a lifetime program, and it changes depending on your private journey.
Our classes are small and individualized for the students. Our teachers do not lead fitness classes, we teach yoga and and other healing arts. We watch our studentsĀ and adapt and adjust for what they need.
Private sessions are available.
