This course will address the biomedical and yoga models of pain and chronic pain. The information is applicable to conditions including: musculoskeletal and joint pain syndromes such as low back pain, neck pain and headaches, shoulder pain; chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia, neurological conditions such as traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis and, Parkinson’s.

In this workshop we will review the bio-psychosocial mechanisms of pain and how yoga philosophy and practices help the person experiencing pain. This session will focus on 1:1 work with clients to create a space for self-inquiry and meditation, pranayama, introspective asana.
